Ultrasonography
The world of ultrasound is ever growing and evolving with regards to machine trends and techniques. With the consistent introduction of varying telemedicine streams, the opportunity for “bed-side” imaging grows, but so does the complexity. That’s where we come in.
Ultrasound Guided Tru-cut biopsies
Minimally invasive procedure performed by a highly skilled ultrasonographer specially trained in organ and mass biopsy. Requires heavy sedation or brief anesthesia to obtain a biopsy of the liver, mass, or other diseased tissue. Reliable procedure that often provides a tissue diagnosis when the fine needle aspirate can not.
Treating Feline Hyperthyroidism
Hyperthyroidism is a commonly diagnosed endocrine disease in older cats. It is caused by a tumor that produces too much thyroid hormone. The disease is eventually fatal if left untreated. Read More
Internal Medicine Consultation
We take pride in clearly explaining and navigating the often foggy landscape of complex diseases and their relationship to each pet’s wellbeing. We help our clients understand each disease process relating to both diagnostic and treatment options. AIM strives to leave each owner understanding the problem so they can focus more on helping their pet heal and remain comfortable. Dr. Doyle tailors the treatment plan according to each patient’s unique needs and their family’s goals and budget.
From simple medication and chronic monitoring plans to coordinating multi-specialist procedures, we work diligently to be sure each pet is cared for in every way possible.
Bone Marrow aspiration/biopsy
Removal of a small amount of bone marrow fluid and cells through a needle. Requires sedation or anesthesia. Most often used to find the cause of certain types of anemias or when investigating certain types of cancer or infections.
CT Scheduling (performed at AEI)
CT scans are used to detect structural changes deep within the body, including tumors, non-cancerous masses, metastasis, inflammatory changes, abscesses, vascular abnormalities, foreign bodies, and others. CT is also used to guide the acquisition of biopsy and aspirate of samples from many areas of the body, including the nasal passages and lungs, that cannot be approached using ultrasound or other imaging modalities alone. Such image-guided treatment obviates the need for a surgical procedure, reducing the impact of treatment on the patient.
Ultrasound Guided Fine Needle Aspiration
Minimally invasive procedure performed by a specially trained ultrasonographer with significant experience in needle aspiration. Sometimes requires sedation. This is a cytology sample (not the same as a biopsy which is histopathology) but often times can provide a diagnosis for certain types of cancers or infections.
Endoscopy/Colonoscopy
Nonsurgical procedure used to examine an animal's digestive tract. Using an endoscope, a flexible tube with a light and camera attached to it, Dr. Doyle can view the inside of the digestive tract and obtain biopsy samples for upper and lower digestive tract problems.
